I guess it's time for another post.

Does anyone want to read about how overwhelmed I am with all the projects I want to do?
I'm now 62 and just got my first Social Security check a couple of weeks ago.  I really had no idea when I was laid off from my job 4 years ago, that I would never work again.  Well certainly not in an office anyway.
I just remembered that I had tried to start a blog a while back and I managed to find it.  I guess I need to start posting more often that once every two years................
I've been painting some furniture.  I'm afraid I'm not very good at selling.  I've tried ebay and Craigslist and another Facebook page for my county in Illinois.  Not much success.  A lot of people say they are coming over but they don't show up.
Well I guess I will try and start with the latest.  I bought this on Craigslist.  I'm not good at remembering to take before pictures so I'll just use the one that the seller posted.

The mirror in one of the side mirrors was broken, so I left them off.  The lower part of the dresser was in rough shape, so I painted with my home made chalk paint.  This was after a good deal of cleaning wth the vacuum cleaner and orange citrus degreaser.  I think this was stored in a shed for a long time.  I made the paint from mistint paint and plaster of paris.  I tried every trick in the book to get the hardware off but it wouldn't budge, so I worked around it. I used 3 coats of paint, a wax I make from mineral oil and beeswax and a sanding sponge for distressing.

I don't know why it looks green.  It's quite a rich dark blue.  I love the little drawers in the top piece.

I've had this other mid century dresser done for a month or so now. It's a child's size dresser.  Some of the original hardware was missing so I used a variety of pulls from my vast collection.  The top pulls are a little uneven but I kind of like them like that.  They are sort of like eyebrows.  :-)
I've tried to sell it but no luck yet. I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong......

Well that's it for tonight.

The first BOW BAG

I'm really pleased with this.  I bought a boat load of fabric at an estate sale and I had many small pieces in the lot.  I love this print but it was less than half a yard and I couldn't imagine what I would do with it.

Thanks to Wipster for this pattern!  I'm already working on another bag in a sunflower print.
